WD elements formated on Mac - can I get it work on smart tv?

Hi guys, 

need your help please.  Formatted my WD on Mac, and downloaded some movies. I however when try to watch the movies, my smart tv can not detect any file in the device. Is this because the device is formatted from mac? Or the movie files format is *.mkv?

Hello and welcome to the WD community.

In some cases Smart TVs do not see hard drives unless the drive is formatted in FAT32, However if the drive is visible on the TV, then make sure that the TV is able to play *.mkv files.
