My WD Passport worked great with my MacBook Pro laptop just fine. I installed the update to Maverick X and now the Passport does not show up on my desktop. The drive is on and has a light on but it is not booting up to my desktop. I have data on the harddrive and do not want to reformat the hard drive and lose all my data.
Does the drive show up in Disk Utilities?
Yes it does. It also shows up if I plug it into a pc.
I just checked and it DOES NOT show up on a PC but does show up on Disk Utility.

It’s probable that you have corruption on the drive. I would look for a data recovery software that can restore the partition. If any of the data is corrupted, you most likely won’t be able to restore it though.
