WD My Passport Pro

I have a 4TB My Passport Pro that doesn’t seem to want to work on some models of iMac. On a test machine I have (2011 i5) the drive works flawlessley, on another (late 2013 i5) it does not even get regonised by the OS. I have tried updating everything on the Mac that can be (firmware for Thunderbolt, OS etc. etc.) all to no avail.

Has anyone else had this problem, or can offer any advice?

I did…but other than standard troubleshooting (which I’d already tried) they provided no answer to the problem. The issue, as previously stated, is that the drive mounts on one Mac but not others - my conclusion is not that there is anything wrong with the drive, but with Thunderbolt (drivers?) on the Macs that is doesn’t get recognised on. I posted here to see if anyone had had similar problems and if they had managed to solve the issue?
