Using "WD Security" and "WD Drive Utilities" on a 2010 My Passport for Mac

I just purchased a new My Passport for Mac 1TB drive.

I already have another My Passport for Mac 1TB drive I purchased in 2010.

For the older drive, I am using “WD SmartWare” (only to lock the drive).

The new “WD Security” does not recognize the older drive.

How can I use the new “WD Security” and “WD Drive Utilities” (included with the new drive) with the old drive?

(I’d like to not use “WD SmaartWare” at all anymore and just use the newer utilities.)
