Software installation passport ultra on Mac 10.9.4 won't show (pop-up)

I just purchased a new WD My passport Ultra, and plugged it in on my Macbook pro with 10.9.4.

The mac does find the passport, and if I type my mac password I can put files on the passport. But there is no installation pop-up showing what so ever. I tried to download it from wd directly, but the installation just crashed every time.

Help, please.

Hi Bondegutt1, no backup software is included on Mac’s for the Passport Ultra, I recomend you to use Time Machine to backup your files.

Back up data using Time Machine on Mac OS 10.5, 10.6, 10.7, 10.8, and 10.9

So I can not make a password and download the tools ect as i could on a windows computer?

I`m not sure you understood my question 100%.

When I plug the passport in to my mac, I can open the passport just fine. When I open it, there is no pop-up what so ever. I can but files on the disk, but I want to create a password, download objects directly to the harddrive, which I at the moment can`t.

How can I change this?

Hi again, to setup the password, download WD security for Mac from the download section.
