I have an old “My Passport Ultra” 500G and new My Passport 1T, suddenly it has stopped authorizing my password. I am 100% certain that the password that I am entering is correct, however, the login for My Passport rejects it !
My WD 500G password is “11111111” it say invalid password !
My 1T password is “aaaaaaaa”, it say invalid password too !
SOLVED when I accidentally CHANGE THE PASSWORD EACH OTHER, so :
My WD 500G password became “aaaaaaaa” it SOLVED !
My 1T password became “11111111”, it SOLVED !
This is RIDICULOUS ! but IT WORK !
I dont understand why the two WD Password can change silently eachother without my permission, or without i know.

What if you don’t have two devices connected? I would really appreciate it if somebody could have an answer to this. It’s really sickening as to why my own device would not recognize my own password I’ve been using for months.
I also would like to know what happens if you have only one HDD.
In my case, I only have a 1T HDD and all of a sudden it stopped accepting the password. Now I have all my pictures, and thousands of important files locked in this “piece of work”.
Is it possible that the boot sectors for the locker got damaged somehow? I tried to run the WD diagnostic porgram and almost immediately it rejects and aborts with a message of “too many bad sectors”
Any help, please!
