Retrieving files from WD Studio (for Mac) to main computer

Hello Everybody!!

 I need some help please.  I backed up all my files from my mac to my WD (using the WD SmartWare).  Had to reformat my hard drive on my mac.  When I tried to retrieve my files from my WD HD I could not find any of the volume files in the “RETRIEVE” tab (Back up volumes) on the WD SmartWare.   All my back up files are physically there but cannot set up the connection to retrieve them.

Any suggestions?   Thanks in advance!

You can also go inside the passport manually and open the smartware.swstor folder to find your files.

yup 

this could happen sometimes if the software needs to be reinstalled

try going to the drive directly and look for a folder called smartware backup or smartware_stor

I prefer to use Time Machine
