Retrieve files on alternate computer

I have files backed up on to a MyBook Studio, which were backed up from an iMac using the WD SmartWare software. I want to retrieve these files through SmartWare on to an alternative iMac, but I cannot access the original iMac’s backed up files in SmartWare. Clicking on ‘Retrieve’ in SmartWare, the ‘Backed up volumes’ list does not contain the back up.

I want to retrieve the backed up files via SmartWare, because all the file names have ‘@0’ or ‘@1’, etc added to them, and going through and changing all the filenames is not an option I want to consider.

The original iMac is currently having it’s HDD repaced too, and I expect that this issue will also effect me when I come to restore the files to the new HDD.

Help please??

Hi, it is possible that the smartware version that you recently installed on the Mac is not compatible with the one that you used to do the backup. You can try to explore the smartware backup folder manually, it has the name smartware.swstor.
