Permission on a folder

I have a folder on my ITB MyBook for Mac, which states that I cannot access as I don’t have the correct permission. However this is an error. I have not set it, and noone else uses it. I used to have access, then one day, I didn’t.

WHen I try to change permission on the Info box  all I see is this:

It never completes the fetching!

How can I gain access to my file again?

I am using a MacBook Pro with Lion 10.7.2

Are you logged in using the same user profile where you created that folder or another one? You can also try to connect your My Book to another PC.

Hi,

Yes Im logged on as same user.

I used to be able to access from another mac (a G4 Powerbook -non-intel, running Tiger ) but now the external drive doesn’t even show up in it’s finder.

I noticed that you have a My Book World, so you can try pressing the reset button, but if you continue to have the same problem ask the same question in the correct category.

Thank you- reset will delete everything won’t it?

And I hadn’t realised I was on the wrong section- will relocate!

If you press the reset button on the back of your My Book, that Will not delete any of your files.
