I don’t know th this is still free but NTFS3G http://mac.softpedia.com/get/System-Utilities/NTFS-3G.shtml might work also check out this post #6 http://community.wdc.com/t5/WD-Portable-Drives/unwritable-drive/td-p/435872 has some suggestions.
