Not able to view my information

Hi, 

I’ve had the “My passport for Mac” for about 2 years now, and I backed up my computer to the drive as soon as I got it. However, when I try to view my information that I previously backed up to the drive, it tells me that I don’t have permission to see it’s contents. How can I view my information?

Are you accessing the files on a different computer now?

Make sure to check the file/folder properties and see if able to take ownership of the files.
