My Passport WD doesn't show on my MacBook Pro

Just got a MacBook Pro and plugged in my Passport into it and it won’t show. Actually, plugged it in once about a week ago and was able to view my files, now i plug it in and the light turns on but nothing happens. Works find on my other Windows operated laptop. What can i do? Don’t want to lose all my files.

Be sure to connect the Passport directly to the Mac, avoid using USB extension cables or USB hubs. You can also check if the Passport is recognized on the disk utility app. Check the link below for the steps.

Hi. Plugged it in as mentionned and followed the steps in your link. Doesn’t seem to be recognizable. Why would it have worked once and then not at all?

If possible also try using another USB cable, if a replacement USB cable doesn’t work then the Passport would appear to be faulty.
