I recently got a brand new My Book Studio II 6tb drive which I purchased in order to consolidate many old drives onto one larger volume. The drive mounts fine on my laptop which is a MacBook Pro running Snow Leopard. However when I try to plug it into my G5 running OS X 10.4.11 i get an error message which says: “The disk you inserted was not readable by this computer”. It then gives my the option to ignore, eject or initialize. Because it is a new drive I tried to initialize but the drive does not show up in disk utility. What should I do?
Maybe it needs an updated driver http://support.wdc.com/product/download.asp?wdc_lang=en&fid=wdsfMyBook_Studio_2 I don’t know much about Macs.

Thank you for your reply. I installed the driver but the problem remains the same. Is it possible that the 6tb drive is just too big for the computer to read it?
