My Book Studio II drive failed, advice needed

I have a My Book Studio II 2TB working in RAID mirrored mode and one of the 1TB drives has failed. I am looking into buying a WD10EZRX drive as a replacement for the failed WD10EADS drive, which as far I can tell is a newer model of the same drive. I am hoping to drop it in and have the RAID rebuild automatically. Will this work with the other drive which is also a WD10EADS, or do the model number have to be identical?

Many thanks.

Hello, yes, the model you mention is compatible. You can check the link below for more information on how to replace the faulty hard drive.

Thanks. So just to clarify, I can use a WD10EADS as Disk A and a WD10EZRX as Disk B in a RAID 1 setup without issue?

That’s correct.
