My Book 2TB without Smartware - How to remove the password

Hi there, just got a new mac with Yosemite on it and noticed that I no longer have the option to auto-unlock my drive in WD Unlocker when the computer boots up. I basically have to re-enter my password every time which prevents Time Machine to run after a scheduled restart of the computer.

Is there a way to disable my drive password? I looked in WD Unlocker and there’s no options. Also tried downloading WD Drive Utilities and nothing in there.

Any recommendations?

Thanks,

Hello,

Try using the WD Security software.

Fantastic, it worked!

I did try to enable the auto-lock option it gave me in the application but that did not work (could be a Yosemite compatibility thing) but removing the password worked fine.

Thanks!
