I erased My Passport 1TB using Disk Utility in Mac

Hello! I own a WD My Passport 1 TB. I am using a MacBook Pro, and so I wanted my external portable drive to work on both Windows and Mac. To solve this problem, I erased My Passport using Disk Utility in my Mac. Its format now is FAT32 so that I can use it on both Windows and Mac.

Unfortunately, everything was gone, I believe including the pre-installed softwares (and firmware, I think) previously contained in My Passport. Another problem, when I copy files on My Passport, it takes a very, very long time to copy the files. I think a 3GB folder being copied into My Passport had an estimated time of 8 hours.

Please help me. What can I do to make my WD My Passport 1TB work like how it used to work before?

Kindly provide me with a detailed (step-by-step) instruction.

Thank you so much!
