Dear WD Lovers!

It is the first time I have to use the WD Community for help.

I have My Book Studio 2TB (the one with the display) and I use it with the new MacOS Mavericks. I opened the FirmWare Updater and I was trying to update the firm (even if the software indicated that I have the newsest one) - and after this attempt something wrong is happening with the disk. The disk is not working - I mean the small LED in front of the disk is not working, I can’t hear the disk is running. WD Smart Ware also cannot see the drive.

Also the firmware updater cannot update the drive as it says the drive is in use. Also the front display is showing strange things.

Do you have any idea how I can update the firmware or connect drive to the computer?

Hello,

Disconnect the drive from the computer and from the power. Make sure the drive is plugged in directly into a wall outlet and then plug the drive back to the computer. If you still have the same issue then try updating the firmware again.

If this does not work then try formatting the drive.
