Could I do RAID with partitions (my passport pro)

Orginally, i want to used it as JBOD (but the speed is so slow!!. I don’t know why thunderbolt is so slow!!!) Therefore, I used MAC OS disk utility to do partition: 4 TB = 2 x 2TB, i used DISK A: A1 A2 DISK B: B1 B2 Then, I join A1B1 by RAID 0 A2 and B2 is left idle. A2 idle for data don’t require speedy access/ back up B2 as time machine for back up (macbook pro and the RAID 0(A1B1) I just only check the speed, but don’t know if it will create bugs or inherit problem. Please advice as I read many info telling that RAID could only work on a whole piece of disk.

Hi,

I´d love to know if this had been working propperly to you.

I just made 3 partitions per disk, and made 3 RAIDs 0 out of them.

Can you please let me know if you had any problems with this? I´ve also read that if you wanted to have a raid on mypassport pro you, then you couldn´t have any partitions. But disk utility allows you to make them. So not sure if it´s safe.

Thanks in advance
