Broken WD 2TB MyBook for Mac

So I’ve had my external drive for a while -it’s definitely not within the 30 day warranty anymore.  It got knocked off my desk by my dog, and now I can’t plug it in because a small bit broke off where the power cord goes in and that small bit is tumbling around inside the casing.  I need the information that is on my external hard drive, but have no way to retrieve it (no power…).   The information will have to be transferred to a brand new drive or maybe just a new casing will work . I don’t have the technical skills to rebuild an external drive, so I’d prefer to take it somewhere local (Salt Lake City area) to have it repaired/ transferred than to mail it in .

Any advice/tips/suggestions would be greatly appreciated :)

Thanks!

Hi, your model has hardware encryption, so connecting the internal HDD wont work to recover your files, if you really need to recover your files, you can contact a professional data recovery company. Check the links below for more info.
