3TB Mybook Studio Crashes every time. . . ..

Hi all,

 

On recommendation of BH Photo, I purchased 2TB and 3TB WD Mybook Studio drives. The 2TB seems to be working ok; backed up 500GB of data with no problem. The 3TB drive is a different story. I plug it in and try to add anything to it, and it ejects, taking the 2TB drive with it. Doesn't work with Time Machine. Doesn't work with a straight file transfer. Slow and then crashes. I've reformatted. I've updated firmware. Nothing works. I can't even add a handful of files to it. Any suggestions to make the drive work?

Try running first aid to see if any corruption

 

try a different cable and make sure the drive is connected to a wall outlet
