New HDD Red WD30EFRX failure after 2-3h

My new HDD doesnt start anymore and cant be addressed. It is just few days old an ran 2-3 hours. Copied about 500GB data on it that i dont have access to now. I hear a click of the head all 3s, as it want to start but aborts. RMA?

Sorry to hear about this. Try a different data and power cable on the drive. If the issue still persists, then I would try and return it to the place of purchase since it appears that you just received the drives. If you can’t return it through the place of purchase, then I would submit an RMA.

Hi,

i’m from germany. I tested with an internal SATA and with a usb/eSATA docking station on Mac and PC. Both failed. Will try RMA, but online formular seems buggy, doesn’t take my input.

Are you still having problems with the online site for an RMA or did you get it to work?

It’s working now, didn’t like Safari i think. I’m in contact with german support for RMA. Thanks!
