It is also failing the SMART quick test. I have tried to register the drive so I can apply for a warranty, but the registration page does not appear to be working. I am only getting 2mb/s speed max when trying to copy files to this drive. It then drops down to only a few hundred kb/s.

Hi the green drives are not ment to be used as a boot drive they are ment for a storage drive as they are slower but not 2mb speeds. If it fails the smart test your only choice is to RMA it. If the drive is only a few days old maybe you can get the place you bought it at to exchange it.
