Had to reinstall Windows XP and I can't see my data, HELP

My XP computer crashed due to a virus, after reinstalling XP, I had to initialize my WD 15EARS for XP to show it on the desktop, but now it’s asking me to Format.  i have a ton of data (think pictures of kids) that I need to retrieve and I know are on the drive, but XP just wont see it.  What do I do???

Try running TestDisk on the drive.
