my hard disk is WD1600YS, how do i make the flash drive bootable? i want to update the firmware

You will usually need some of utility to make a drive bootable. For the firmware update on the WD Black2 drive we recommend a utility called “Rufus” that will make a bootable USB drive. After Rufus is done creating the stick, just copy your firmware update to the drive and boot to it.
