Does WD5000AAKS made in 2007 have some kind of protection to small drops?

lol im asking this because yesterday my oldie wd5000aaks when it was on suffered a small drop  from 1 cm ( 0.39 inches) (from google conversion lol)  and i see the drive powering down for at least 2 seconds and after that powering on again like nothing happened ( made the internal smart test check)

i feel that the drive spin down more quicly than normaly does when i shut it down

Try not to fumble your disk(s).

Best is to have them mounted safe in a chassis.

In my web server I have  bays, all filled with disks.
