Abismal performance on sata 3 drive, please help

Hello all,

I just got this WDC WD1002FAEX-00Y9A0 ATA Device. It is giving me about 80-90 mb/sec in ATTO, just like my other caiviar sata 2 drive. Is there anything I can do? I have changed cables, updated drivers on a clean win7 install of a Z68 board, used both my intel and marvel chipiset to get the same results? I am just wondering if anyone else has gotten these dirves to perform as advertised w/o going to RMA it?

Is that an average or maximum date rate?

Yeah that is the average. It isn’t as good as the SATA 2 drives I have. Thanks very much for posting what you are getting, I am having a hard time finding any comparisons that include this drive. I keep seeing how there was an issue with this drive inparticular having a firmware problem that makes it run at sata 2 speeds.
