WD15EARS problem

Hi,

I’ve a problem with my 15EARS HDD.

The HDD will not start at Windows, in the BIOS it is not even listed.

I thought it is an Problem with the motherboard on the HDD but now i read it is a problem with the firmware on it.

is it possible to fix this?

I would not lose my data.

Hard to say what it wrong with it with knowing so little about the drive. If the BIOS doesn’t see it - there is a problem with drives initialization. Could be firmware could be physical, neither are really a DIY type of fixes. Seek for data recovery company if you need files back, if drive is still under warranty open the case with WD and send it for replacement.
