Anybody know why this is happening?

In addition, this drive gives me so much problem because this is a replacement drive. The first drive gives me bad sectors and damanges my files around, drive life 9 months, luckily I have backup, and I get a replacement from WD too. The replacement drive is just around 1 month old, and now I am getting new problem. I am starting to lose confident in WD drives. This is the first WD SATA drive for me.

Dude, since this is the second drive then you have to consider the possibility of something in the computer. Just in case I’d call WD again and ask for a senior tech for a second opinion.

if you are not using cables with clips get some as a first step

as for the disk disappearing, that is a more serious issue that should not be happing

Check the drive with another motherboard but check the cables first.
