WD Red Pro better UER rating than Se?

Hi,

I’d like to know why the WD Red Pro drives have a better ‘Non-recoverable read errors per bits read’ rating than the Se drives given that the Se drives are more expensive and intended for datacentre use?

Red Pro: <1 in 10^15  ( http://www.wdc.com/wdproducts/library/SpecSheet/ENG/2879-800022.pdf))

Se: < 10 in 10^15 ( equal to <1 in 10^14)  ( http://www.wdc.com/wdproducts/library/SpecSheet/ENG/2879-771475.pdf))

Hi AndreasKa,

The WD Red Pro and WD Se should have the same URE, it looks like there may be an error in the documentation. I have forwarded this over internally to have the docs reviewed.

So to be clear, the URE for both these drives is 1 in 10^15?

For the most part, yes. I believe that it will be listed as <1 in 10^14, but that is the same as the WD Se at <10 in 10^15.
