Just curious if WD plans on updating this line? As I recall the 250/500 are using 250G/platter and the 1TB is using 333 per platter.

With the advance of PMR and even SMR I would suspect WD could manage a 500G/platter coupled with 128MB of cache.

Higher density would increase the speed and access time.

It’s the only way mechanical drives will compete with SSD at some level and in places in which SSD are not feasible like raid arrays.

Currently there is no information on this, but you can always make any suggestions in the ideas boards, the development team is aware of the most popular ideas.
