Hello,

Are these drives connected directly to the motherboard or are you using some type of external enclosure?

Also, what are you using to get this SMART data? Are you using a third party utility, is it a test built into the enclosure you are using (if the drive are in an enclosure).

I use my sata 3 port on my motherboard. I had change ports some times to others (my two other Samsung spinpoint hdds working without problems). For smart test i used the western digital diagnostic tool in the newest version. I can’t format the hdds (quick & normal format) and had data lost a lot of time.

Now i makes a new gpt and format disks with ntfs - thanks of gparted…But for all four drives quick test fails!

And yes all the four drives are in case and are screwed!

Whats going on?!

Windows doesn’ t likes 3 TB HDDs?!

I had write to the western digital support because of my issues with the hard drives.

Hope they found a solution to fix it.

I think, all drives have a lot of bad sectors! And this is the answer for my grievous data loss for round about 10 TB!
