Red drive

Hello,

I recently bought three 3TB Red drives and I have a question.

It seems the drives behave like my old Green drives. Meaning that after a few minutes not being accessed they go to sleep and when I go to access them I can hear them start spinning and are now accessible. Is this what is called : parking their heads?

I thought that 24/7 meant that the drive was always on and it didn’t have to be waken up.

Or am I wrong?

Thanks.

Anyone?

Hi, yes, the WD Red has a lot in common with the WD Green, including the head parking frequency.

So what 24/7 means?

And I thought the head parking was the weak point of the Green?

i think they are tested to run 24/7 in a nas …  didnt know that they had this issue btw…
