Problem with replaced HDD

I have replaced my old HDD after its bad sector problem with new one . After unpacking it on 18-12-12 and starting PC after installing it, an unpleasant sound of ‘cut-cut’ appeared from HDD. Performance of the drive is very bad and is touching its outer body, jerks may me observed. I have changed the port and tested it on another PC. Doing the same I got same problem. Although at present HDD is not sounding ‘cut-cut’ but its performance is terribly poor. Copying a single file of 4.7 GB it is taking more than 14 minutes while I can copy same file on my old Hitachi HDD in 5-6 minutes. The new HDD is 2 times thicker than old one. Model no. of my Old HDD was WD10EARX-00PASB0 while new one is of WD10EARX-00N0YB0 model.
Please suggest me what to do?

Specifications of my PC -

Intel Core2Duo

3GB 800MHz DDR2 RAM

Intel DG33FB motherboard

Second HDD- Hitachi 160GB SATA

Hi, try using DLG to run a test. If the test completes successfully, write zeros and re-format the hard drive. Check the link below for the steps.
