Wow! I upgraded to Debian 5.03 and a Pentium 4 processor and now copying the same file from 2TB EARS to 80GB internal IDE drive is at 83MB/sec and copying from 80 GB IDE to 2TB is 46MB/sec. Now I can leave it with 4k sectors.
