Old hard drive meets new hard drive Help

So my old computer has been out of commission for about 4 years now due to being a crappy model (Dell inspirion 545s) and a fried integrated video card ( to much gaming). I recently had the idea to take out my old hard drive and make it a secondary drive for my new computer but, when I tried that it wasn’t detected by Win 7 or the disk manager ,even though; the old drive has win 7 as well. The old drive is detected by BIOS and when I insert the old drive alone it starts up fine but after I get to the desktop its just a black screen with a cursor moving and I can’t do anything but bring up the task manager. So anyway the specs I have from both drives are: (and I’m copying straight from the label)

Just make sure to connect the drive on a secondary sata connector with no jumpers on it…

the drive should show up under disk management and you should be to assign a letter to the drive if it doesn’t get one by it self.
