I have 2 Caviar Green Advanced Format drives (WD6400AARS and WD10EARS) that I previously installed Win XP on and used WD Align to align the partitions. I’m going to move to Windows 7 and install it on those same hard drives. Do I need to do anything to the drives to return to their original state so that they work optimally with Win 7 and the 4K sectors? I’m assuming I should I completely repartition the drives and reformat (I’m ok losing the data on them). Anything else?
