How use a old wd1600avvs in my pc?

Hello !!

I have a old box numericable I have dismounted the hdd wd1600avvs serial [Deleted] for use in my computer and it is not recognized usb sata but yes.

It works great in the box numericable.

I can not format it for use in my pc, it is protected??  :cry:

I use linux and many other software that does not work.  :cry:

The box numericable is old, it’s rubbish, but I still wanted to recover the hard drive to use it in my pc. :smiley:

Should there you flash the firmware?

Welcome to the Community.

You may need to test the hard drive for error using WD Data Lifeguard Diagnostics. It will also allow you to fully erase the hard drive to correct formatting issues and logical bad sectors.

the tv box  is an old box for the trash.

I just want to recover the hard drive to my pc.

ps: I used linux and hdat2 to remove the partition and nothing works  :cry:
