How to run WD Red SMART load/unload utility in Windows 8.1

Am trying to update WD20EFRX firmware.  Have downloaded the WD5741.exe and tried to follow instructions with no apparent success.

.I am running Windows 8.1 on a Kingston SSD and have the WD20EFRX plugged in as an additional drive on the PC.  I open a command window and navigate to downloads, do a dir and I can see the WD5741.exe.  When I try to run it using the switches specified in the instructions on the download page, another command window flashes briefly on my screen then closes.  What am I missing or doing wrong?

Couple of odd things, tried to download WD5741x64 first but Win 8.1 just opens the file in Notepad, all gibberish.

Any thoughts welcome as I have several of these drives to update before putting them in my new (to me) NAS.

Open the command prompt with administrator priviledge.

That did the trick.  I thought my user accoutn had admin rights but running as administrator solved the problem.
