Computer doesn't recognise my HD

Hi,

I purchased a WD 2TB Caviar Green 2 weeks ago. Everything was working fine until a few days ago.

With this drive attached my computer takes 5-10 minutes to boot, and it doesn’t recognise the drive in cmos. Once booted into Windows and going into Computer Management I have tried to initialize the disk only to recive this error: " The request could not be performed because of an I/O device error."

I have also downloaded the Western Digital Data LifeGuard Diagnostics software from the WD site and ran the diagnostics and got the following results:

I also have data on this drive that is most probably lost or corrupted, any ways to recover those files?

It looks to me that this drive has to be sent for RMA.

Please help.

A disk I/O error occurs any time the computer is unable to read a diskette, disc, or other disk in the computer. If you have no diskette or CD in the computer and are getting the Disk I/O error as the computer is starting this is referring to your hard disk drive. Unfortunately this is often an indication of a hard disk drive failure, if you are not able to access the drive at all you will need to take the unit to a data recovery company.
