Black, Blue, Green

Is anyone one of the three (black, blue, or green) considered an optimum or premium drive? (I’m not interested in the environmental aspects of the green drive.) My dealers all have different stories.

At the moment, I’m using WD drives exclusively, but that may change if I continue to have problems like I’m having lately.

Depends on how you plan to use the drive.  None of these drives are considered raid drives, so for desktop usage, they may provide slightly different results.

  • Green drives are energy efficient and the most quiet.
  • Blue drives are for general desktop usage involving word processing.
  • Black drives are more for the AV environment, or when you may be doing more heavy processing.
