Are my two WD 20EARS drives going to die?

According to the Wikipedia page about SMART the higher the count of Reallocated Sectors Count the bigger the probability the drives are going to die anytime soon. My two drives has a value of 200 at current and at worst and the threshold is at 140 for both.

So I passed the threshold and need to swap them?

Here’s the SMART data.

Hi if you look where is says data its 0 that is how many have been reallocated none.

strange how you have 2 different sets of SMART data. If they are the same drive they should be the same… for example one has a standard key of “Temperature” (C2) and the other does not.

anyways i have a similar drive and what i see on yours looks like they are showing no problems.

The value of 200 at current and at worst and the threshold is at 140 is the default i’m pretty sure.

So i don’t see any problems with anything in any values they all look fine to me.

No they are not the same. I guess they have different FIRMWARE. WD support ofcourse didn’t say anything regarding that other that they are exactly the same drive. Either way the 00-modell does have AAM which the 60-model doesn’t have. AAM was disabled on the newer revision on the 60-model because of some patent thing. And the 60-model has alot less LCC (parking head). I could problably fix that with widdle i but i don’t want to take any chances loosing my data.
