1yr old WD750AARD SATA failing

I came to the WD website to check my warranty. Says its still covered till July 21, 2014. I logged in and attempted to RMA, says I need to register the product first. Apparently forgot to do that when I got the drive from Newegg.

Anyway, I attempted to register and this is the message I got:

“Thank you for registering your product(s), 0 product(s) were registered out of 1. The following asset(s) failed to register: because it’s either an OEM product or the warranty has been voided. For further assistance, please contact the WD support team.”

What happen? How to I get this drive replaced?

Was it a brand new consumer drive when you bought it? Or was this removed from another device and sold as a New/Used one?

Either way, you will have to open a case with WD and get it sorted out. You’re going to need some proof of purchase as well.

beLIEve Is correct. There are many reasons as to why the disk may be showing no warranty with WD including (But not limited to) OEM status. If this is a mistake on the database then contacting support with a proof of purchase (Receipt) will correct it. You can do so either by phone or email.
