no i only tried restarting to recompile the files. but i didnt rebuild the media library.how am i gonna do that?
Recompiling is rebuilding the library. To be sure, go into the Options and delete the library info. This will force the Hub to rescan the library from scratch.
after deleted the media library is there a possibility that can cause data loss?(like movies etc.) because i don’t have back up of the movies that are in the internal storage.
All your movies will be fine, you are just deleting the information it collects about where and what they are.
hello can anyone help me with this problem ive sent 9 hours trying to sort it out i got a WD live Hub 1Tb yesterday 26/10/11
connect to the TV updated to 2.8.13 no problem connected to Network via ethernet cable put about 6 films in movie folder
plus film info files worked great so thought i would put few more movies in after turning it off few hours later switched it on and theirs nothing in the movie folder just a message “there is no media in the current folder” so went back to the pc and its gone from my
networks ive tried everything downgrading to earlier firmware-resetting the unit its like the internal Hard drive has vanished
so i have no access to the HD … is it Knackered??/ or the firmware update ??? if what can i do ??
First thing to try is to unplug the power cord, wait a few seconds then plug it back in.
If that doesn’t work, you can either try and reflash the firmware. Or what I would advise, roll back to the previous firmware.
Here’s how:
tried all that ive rolled back to the 2.07.17 didnt work now rolled back to Original Release and still not working
would never have got a WD live hub if i knew about all theses problems with it
Hello, after the update Firmware Version 2.08.13 some of my pictures of the movies did not show anymore in the overviews.
Help, can i get my old firmware back??
To do a firmware rollback, please visit the link below:
Has anyone followed the instructions in the post above and not had the “New Firmware” menu option appear? I am trying to roll back to 2.07.17 using a thumb drive and no matter what I do the new firmware menu never appears. The firmware files are on the root of the drive and all that jazz but still no luck.
You have to turn off auto detect new firmware in system settings in order for it not to appear anymore
shadow_cruiser that was it! you are a true champion and thank you for taking the time to respond.

Thats because you did not download the firmware from the official WD rollback page. On that page the firmware is already updated for rollback.
Sooooo…looks like i should have read this thread before updating the firmware…
i can no longer map my hub to my computer and i cant access any of my data on it…
ive tried to roll back my firmware and that didnt work. Ive reset the hub multiple times and still nothing.
Someone tell me my my movies arent gone…
anyone have any advice?
Jay
i had the same issue when i upgraded the firmware, but with mine, the media player couldnt even detect the internal drive. i had to put back the old firmware before it saw the hard drive again.
When will be a new Firmware Version for WD TV Live Hub?
Same problem here. Very disappointing.
