My Cloud 4T no longer recognized - need data back

Rootfourme - a belated thank you for your time and input.  I was able to get the files and transfer them to the new MyCloud.  However, I didn’t use the FTP as suggested, rather I simply cut and pasted the files from the old MyCloud to my computer and then copied them from the computer to the the new MyCloud - more cumbersome perhaps, but a no-brainer which worked just the same. And since I didn’t sit and watch, it wasn’t a waste of time since I could do other things. Anyway, thanks for taking the time and for providing your expertise.  Hopefully, I’ll have better luck with the new MyCloud.

Best…

Thanks for the update.  I’d assumed you’d given up, but glad that the instructions got you on to the HDD and you achieved your goal.   It’s probably scary the first time, but now you know a little Linux, it’ll be much easier if/when you’re in the situation again  (happened to 2 of my 4 NASs over the last 12 months, always due to firmware updates).

Best wishes.  R4M
